Apprentice Bond Signed by Joel Lane

North Carolina Wake County This Indenture made the 7th day of Sep in the Year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and Ninety between Joel Lane Esquire Chairman and presiding Justice of our said Court in behalf of himself as well as the rest of the Justices of the said Court of the one part and Rodham Adkins of the other part witnesseth that the said Joel Lane in behalf of himself and the rest of the Justices aforesaid hath put out and Bound Ephriam Rogers apprentice to the said Rodham Adkins who is to teach his said apprentice the art mastery and Occupation of a House Carpenter & Joiner and the said Ephriam Rogers is to serve his said Master well and faithfully untill he attains the age of Twenty one years being on or about this time of the age of nineteen years and four months during which time the said Rodham Adkins shall provide and procure for his said apprentice sufficient Meat Drink Washing Lodging and apparrel both Linnen and Woollen fit and Convenient aforesaid an apprentice In witness whereof the parties have hereunto set there names and seals the day and Year first above written Signed Sealed & Delivered in the presence of H Lane [Signed & Sealed] J Lane R Adkins
