It’s an exciting winter for the Joel Lane Museum House, and local news coverage is helping us to document it.
WRAL followed their initial story on our paint project with an update after we removed the paint. A short January 28 update on the evening news was followed by a longer article by Heather Leah on January 31. Both may be found here.
Meanwhile, we look forward to the dedication of the new memorial to the enslaved, to be held on Sunday, February 16 at 2:00. Spectrum News looked ahead to the dedication on the February 11 morning news, here.
Edit: On Thursday, Debruary 13, WRAL published "Hidden History: The lost names and stories of Raleigh's enslaved community," by Heather Leah, which takes a more in-depth look at some of the stories of the enslaved. Article may be found here.
