Excitement and Caution: Joel Lane Museum House to Resume Tours 9/11/2020
Beginning September 11, 2020, the Joel Lane Museum House will offer tours again. Due to the continued risks posed by the COVID-19/Coronavirus pandemic, we are observing a number of enhanced safety precautions. We are delighted to get back to sharing our history with this wonderful community, and dedicated to doing so safely. The health and well-being of our visitors, volunteers, and staff remains our top priority.
Please do not come to the Joel Lane Museum House if you have symptoms of illness, or have been exposed to the coronavirus.
Here are some changes you might see if you visit during the pandemic:
Tour Schedule:
We are beginning with a limited tour schedule. We currently welcome walk-in tours, on a first-come, first-served basis. Group sizes are limited. Please plan to arrive a few minutes early to get tickets and complete the safety screening.
Thursdays: tours begin 10:00, 11:00, 12:00, and 1:00
Fridays: tours begin 10:00, 11:00, 12:00, and 1:00
Safety:
Masks Required for Everyone
Guests, volunteers, and staff must wear an appropriate face mask/face covering, fully covering both nose and mouth, at all times when they are in any JLMH building, and/or on a tour. Guests may be asked to use hand sanitizer upon entering JLMH buildings. We have masks and hand sanitizer available for anyone who needs them.
Group Sizes Limited to 4 Guests
No more than four visitors may be inside the Visitors Center/Museum Store, or on a tour, at the same time. Tour groups will be accompanied by a docent, for a total of five.
Follow Safety Directions
Guests agree to follow safety directions from JLMH staff and docents. Example directions may include:
Stand in assigned spots as marked, to preserve social distancing.
Do not touch artifacts.
Wear a mask/face covering appropriately, at all times, covering nose and mouth.
Access to some areas may be limited because of the size of the rooms in our historic buildings.
Temperature Check and Questionaire
All visitors, volunteers, and staff may be asked to submit to a no-touch temperature check, and to answer questions to affirm that they are free of COVID-19 symptoms and have not, as far as they know, been exposed to the virus.
Policies Subject to Change
This is a dynamic situation, and procedures may change without notice as we respond to our ever-evolving circumstances.
Please call 919-833-3431 with any questions, or use the Contact Form.
Thank you for helping to make sure that we can once more bring our history to life—safely. We look forward to seeing you at the Joel Lane Museum House!
